Remember Chris | The Recovery Position isn't leaning on the bar at the pub!
Published | 12.26, 11th of September 2009, by Paul Butler | Random
Just this week my boss mentioned to me that he was thinking of running in the Dorney 10K. Chris has been a jogger for a little while now but he felt he needed an incentive. Something to drive him on further and for longer. Chris sits behind his desk for hours on end. Like me and many other office workers he is keen to do something for charity but what? When he heard about the Dorney 10K run and the fact that it was for the UK Cancer Research charity, the decision was made there and then. This is an ideal event for beginners, now he just needs to raise some funds.
This is where YOU can help dear friend. The target is low so it should be very achievable but that doesn't mean we should stop giving once the target has been met. As it stands at the moment Chris will be running solo which is difficult enough considering this is his first ever charity run. So dig deep dear friend. It's easy to donate and every pound will make such a difference. It's fast and secure plus don't forget to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation.
Just think. If everyone one of Chris's friends give just two pounds he would raise £6. So you need to donate more than £2 each to reach the £250 target!
Good luck Chris. Let's hope this is only the start of things to come.

So here it begins! | 10k run for Cancer Research
Published | 10.56, 11th of September 2009, by Chris van Aurich | Random
Well after a sudden impulse to get fit, I started jogging, please note jogging not running. So after 3 weeks of this I wanted something to focus on and thought a 10k run to raise some money would be a good idea. So here I am, running 10k for charity and to be honest I actually cannot wait, although a little nervous. Please dig deep, as colleages are already doubting that I have any friends.

Microsoft only 3 years behind Google

Microsoft have just released details of their online document suite, a lightweight version of Microsoft Office which will rival Google Docs - launched 3 years ago.

I can't believe it's taken this long for Microsoft to catch up with this, 3 years is a lifetime in the technology world. 3 years ago, I still owned a couple of VHS video tapes and listening to CDs!
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Microsoft's new 'innovative' products, I use XP rather than Vista, and prefer Office 2003 to 2007. And I doubt the online Office 2010 will tempt me away from the simple and efficient Google Docs, but we will have to wait and see.
Me thinks it's about to rain...
